Delhi Man Kills Wife Over Her Job

Son witnesses father dragging her body

Today, in South Delhi's Ambedkar Nagar, a 52-year-old man strangled his wife to death during an argument about her job.

The son informed the police that his parents had a heated argument on Tuesday night. When he came downstairs in response to a call from his father, Ved Prakash, he discovered his father dragging his mother's lifeless body from the bathroom, according to reports.

When questioned by his son Akash, Prakash admitted to strangling his wife, Sushila, aged 50, to death with a dupatta, as reported by the police.

The son, along with his father, transported the body to a hospital on Wednesday morning. The police noted that hospital authorities confirmed that she was already deceased before arriving at the medical facility.

Hospital authorities reported the incident to the police, and an official mentioned that there were multiple injury marks on the woman's body, notably signs of strangulation.

The son told the police that he lived upstairs in their Madangir house, while his parents lived downstairs. He also revealed that his father frequently argued with his mother about her job.

As per Akash, his mother had previously filed a domestic violence case against Prakash, which was being processed in Saket District Court. However, she withdrew the case around the time of their son's wedding due to societal pressure, the police explained.

Akash explained to the police that on Tuesday night, his father and mother had an argument because she had gone to work. Then, at around 6 am on Wednesday, he received a call from his father.

Akash found his mother being moved from the bathroom by his father. She seemed unconscious. When he asked his father about it, Prakash admitted to fighting with Sushila, strangling her with a dupatta, and hiding her body in the bathroom.

On Wednesday morning, the father and son brought the body to the hospital. Afterward, Prakash was arrested and taken into custody, as reported by the police.
