Delhi Mandates 150-Meter Gap Between Meat Shops and Religious Sites

The MCD House in New Delhi has granted approval to a proposed policy that includes a requirement for a minimum distance of 150 meters between meat shops and religious places when issuing new or renewed licenses for these businesses.

 

This particular proposal, along with several others, was passed by the MCD House amid a commotion during its short proceedings.

 

As per the agenda presented in the House today, the proposed policy is related to the issuance of new licenses or the renewal of licenses for various establishments, including meat shops, meat processing units, packaging, and storage plants, among others.

 

According to the House proceedings, the proposal mandates a requirement of a minimum distance of 150 meters between a meat shop and religious places such as temples, mosques, gurudwaras, and other similar places.
