Delhi Metro Expands WhatsApp Ticketing System

Now available on all lines.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has expanded its WhatsApp-based ticketing system to include all metro lines in the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR), including the Gurugram Rapid Metro.

This expansion comes after a successful launch of the service on the Airport Express Line in May this year, in partnership with Meta and their authorized partner Pelocal Fintech Pvt. Ltd.

Passengers can now buy metro tickets using WhatsApp by sending a text message that says 'Hi' to +91-9650855800 or by scanning a QR code.

This feature works for all metro stations in the DMRC network, including the Gurugram Rapid Metro Corridor. The WhatsApp chatbot is easy to use and is available in both English and Hindi, so it can help many different metro riders.

A DMRC official mentioned, "We understand that buying tickets is an important part of using the Delhi Metro. We're happy to introduce a plan that makes it easier for all passengers to book tickets. Our main goal is to offer different ways to buy tickets digitally, like using UPI, Credit/Debit cards, and more. We want to make ticket booking simple and up-to-date, so passengers have an easy and stress-free experience."

Dr. Vikas Kumar, the Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), said, "Allowing metro riders to buy tickets easily through a chat will make their travel better. We believe this feature will encourage more people to use the Delhi metro for their journeys."
