Delhi metro's pink line becomes the network longest corridor which spans 38 stations

On Friday Delhi metro inaugurated a small segment of its Pink line at Trilokpuri, which has proved a bottleneck for the DMRC making it the longest operational corridor of the network.


On Friday Delhi metro inaugurated a small segment of its Pink line at Trilokpuri, which has proved a bottleneck for the DMRC making it the longest operational corridor of the network. For this very first time, this line is been linked completely with 59 km long Majlis park- shiv vihar corrrioder which covers around 38 stations of this line. Meanwhile, this pink line was opened in multiple phases in 2018. It was inaugurated via video conferencing by Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, Union Housing Minister and urban affairs Hardeep Singh Puri who jointly inaugurated the section of about 289 metres between Mayur Vihar pocket 1 and Trilok Puri Sanjay lake stations.


According to the statement of the officials." This will cover important landmarks such as Anand Vihar railway station,  Anand Vihar ISBT, Nizamuddin Railway station, INA , Lajpat Nagar, South extension".


Meanwhile, the services of this station will begin at 3 pm from Friday onwards and DMRC also stated that with this seamless connectivity, commuters will also save time and money. Earlier it was expected to be plugged by September 202, but it got delayed due to repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic, said the sources.
