Delhi police have set their fingernails on the ground near bars along the border with Ghazipur (Delhi-Uttar Pradesh), one of the areas where farmers have been protesting for more than 2 months now. Farmers' unions are adamant about their demand to repeal the 3 farm rules and the government has said the decision can only be made through negotiations. After various discussions with farmers, the government has indicated its intention to amend the existing laws and propose to hold these new changes for 1.5 years, but farmers' leaders are still adamant.

Earlier in the day, Delhi Police Commissioner SN Shrivastava visited the Ghazipur border and took a statement on security plans. He spoke to Delhi police personnel deployed in the area and appreciated their efforts.

Meanwhile, security was tightened at three borders - Ghazipur, Singhu and Tikri - barricades, boulders and barricades appeared as more troops paved the way for fear of many farmers joining the protests from the Punjab, Haryana and western UP.

Drones are being used to maintain surveillance and extensive inspections were carried out at border areas which led to major traffic disputes in the capital. Delhi police have registered a total of 44 cases in the farmers' protest so far and a total of 122 people have been arrested.

The Department of Home Affairs on Monday extended internet suspension at the borders of Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri, until 11pm. on Tuesday, after a farmers' strike. Nearly 250 Twitter accounts have also been suspended.
