Delhi Records Season's Hottest Day

Temperature peaks at 39.2°C


National Capital Delhi witnessed a surge in its temperature level. The city recorded the season's hottest day. On Tuesday the temperature recorded 39. 2 degrees Celsius in the capital city.

 

On Tuesday, the India meteorological department (IMD) said, Delhi recorded its hottest day of the season with the maximum temperature settling at 39.2 degrees Celsius. Further, it also said the mercury will rise.

 

The maximum temperature at the Safdarjung observatory, which is considered the official marker for the national capital, was recorded at 39.2 degrees Celsius, seven notches above the season's average. The minimum temperature was recorded at 18.8 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal.

 

The Palam observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 39.3 degrees Celsius. Lodhi Road, Ridge, Gurugram, Ayanagar, Najafgarh, Pitampura, and Sports Complex recorded a maximum temperature of 40.1 degrees Celsius, 40.2 degrees Celsius, 40.8 degrees Celsius, 40.2 degrees Celsius, 40.6 degrees Celsius, 41.4 degrees Celsius and 41.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

 

The weather department has predicted severe heat wave conditions for the next three days at some places in Delhi. The maximum temperature is likely to settle at 40 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to settle around 20 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

 

Last year, the city had recorded a high of 40.1 degrees Celsius on March 30, which was the highest temperature in the month in at least 13 years.
