Delhi Reports 1,797 New Covid Cases

35% Higher Than Yesterday!


The National capital is witnessing a surge in the daily Covid count. The city is still reeling under Covid cases. Whereas 1,797 new cases of the deadly virus have been reported in the capital city.

 

Besides, one virus-related death was also recorded, increasing the death count in the city to 26,226, said a health bulletin. The positivity rate in the city stood at 8.18 percent.

 

With 901 recoveries logged in the past 24 hours, the city now has 4,843 active cases.

 

This is the fourth consecutive day Delhi's daily figure remained above the 1,000-mark. It recorded 1,323 cases on Thursday, 1,375 on Wednesday, and 1,118 on Tuesday.

 

The bulletin said 26,806 people were vaccinated today and that the cumulative doses administered in the city have crossed 3.46 crore.

 

With the fresh cases, Delhi's tally of COVID-19 cases increased to 19,19,025 while the death toll rose to 26,226, the department said in its latest bulletin.

 

With 1,797 new Covid cases on Friday, the active caseload in the city went up to 4,843 of which 2,850 were under home isolation. As of June 17, a total number of 19,19,025 have been infected with the virus while the city has recorded 26,226 deaths. 

 

According to the statement, The capital’s daily test positivity rate has been climbing in tandem with the rise in cases. Friday’s TPR of 8. 2% was the highest recorded this month. The TPR was6. 7% on Thursday and 7% on Wednesday. On Monday, it was slightly higher at 7. 06%.
