Delhi's 400-bedded Guru Tegh Bahadur Covid Care Centre to start from today

300 beds with oxygen support in the first phase


Within 10 days, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee has set up a 400-bed Covid Care Centre at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. It is named Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Covid Care Centre. Corona patients will be admitted here from Monday(today). The Centre is being started in collaboration with the Delhi government. 300 beds are being started in the first phase and all beds will be equipped with oxygen support. Oxygen concentrators are also installed for backup. Teams of doctors, nurses and other staff will be deployed on behalf of the Delhi government. This Covid Care Centre has been linked to LNJP Hospital.

The President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Manjinder Singh Sirsa informed that 400th Prakash Parv of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib is being celebrated. To save the lives of the people, a Covid Centre has been built at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib instead of Guru Sahib. All types of health facilities will be provided to the patients and their caretakers. He said, "There is nothing greater than saving the lives of people in the service of humanity. Covid patients in Delhi-NCR are not getting oxygen beds. Medication, langar and other arrangements will be free. One rupee will not be charged from any patient or timer. Patients will be admitted on a walk-in basis. Patients whose oxygen level is between 80-90 will be admitted here. Along with doctors, a large number of volunteers will also be put on duty."

According to information received from the Gurdwara Committee, Harmeet Singh Kalka has been appointed as the nodal officer of this Centre. Kalka said that free ambulance service is also being started from here. He informed that the arrangements for the stay and food of the healthcare staff who will be stationed here, will also be from the committee. Soon a Covid Centre will also be started in Gurdwara Bala Sahib.
