Delhi’s air quality remains 'very poor' with AQI at 329

AQI in Anand Vihar stood at 834!


Ahead of the arrival of the winter season and the festival of Diwali , and upcoming Chhath puja, the burning of firecrackers is creating a choked environment. 

The air quality Index (AQI) in the capital city has touched a very poor category whereas no improvement has been witnessed so far. 

 

The air quality in Delhi showed no improvement and remained in the ‘very poor’ category on Friday morning. The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of the city stood at 329.

 

The AQI in Anand vihar stood at 834, which is amongst the highest count. According to data from the monitoring stations listed on the government website showing the National Air Quality Index, AQI in Anand Vihar stood at 834, the highest in the city.

 

A few more areas like Rohini registered an AQI of 357, the Jhilmil area recorded an AQI of 418 and the AQI in Sonia Vihar stood at 332.

 

Meanwhile, Noida, which is part of the national capital region, recorded an AQI of 351 while Gurugram's AQI stood at 324, as per data released by SAFAR-India.

 

AS per SAFAR, the concentration of (Particulate Matters) PM 10 and PM 2.5 was recorded as 219 and 316 in Delhi on Thursday. 

 

Meanwhile, the National capital observes a poor condition of the air quality during winter season. The government has implemented several schemes, rules and has also installed several smog control towers to curb the pollution level of the capital city. 

 

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered "good", 51 and 100 "satisfactory", 101 and 200 "moderate", 201 and 300 "poor", 301 and 400 "very poor", and 401 and 500 "severe".
