The National Capital has been witnessing a suffocating environment for the past few days. With the arrival of the winter season, the process of stubble burning begins which hampers the overall environment of Delhi. Keeping in view, the Delhi government is running several initiatives to imrove the air quality. The Delhi Government implemented "Red light on, Gaadi off" and also set up smog towers in the hub of the city at Connaught place and Anand Vihar in order to curb the pollution.

After 413 days, on Monday the residents in the capital city breathed clean air. This is after 2015 for the first time Delhi is so clean during October.

As per the information, the Air Quality Index (AQI) went to 46  which comes under the good category. As per the statement given by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), a drop of 250 was witnessed in just a day as AQI on Sunday was 298 (poor category).

Meanwhile, Delhi witnessed heavy rainfall for the last two days which was a sign of relaxation in the National Capital and acted as a boost to bring a shift in the air quality from poor to good.
