Delhi's Air Quality Shifts To Satisfactory Category

AQI stands at 53!


On Monday, Delhi's air quality took a great shift towards the satisfactory category. The capital city was seen reeling with incessant pollution levels. The Air quality index (AQI) of Delhi took a shift from severe to moderate and then to the satisfactory category after heavy rainfall lashed in the National capital for two consecutive days.


According to the System of Air quality and weather forecasting and research (SAFAR) India, "Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) is presently at 53(overall) in the satisfactory category."


An AQI between zero and 50 is good, 51-100 is satisfactory, 101-200 is moderate, 201-300 is poor, 301-400 is very poor and 401-500 is severe. 


According to the statement given by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), it said cold wave will start from January 11 night in the northern part of the country.

 

It said, "As the western disturbance is moving towards the east, the temperature will fall drastically as it goes. So, in northern India including Delhi, the temperature will fall between 4 degrees to 6 degrees."


There has been a change in weather conditions all across the Country. Few states are witnessing incessant cold waves.

 

The bone-chilling winds are blowing in the Jammu and Kashmir Region also the IMD said, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana will also witness cold have on January 12.
