Delhi's air quality slides down to "poor category"

The national capital is again witnessing a downshift in its air quality to "poor". On Monday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the minimum temperature in Delhi is likely to be 24 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature is predicted to be 36 degrees Celsius.

As per the data given by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), it showed that the hourly air quality index (AQI) at 7 am stood at 165 whereas on Sunday the AQI was 168 which is considered moderate. The AQI between 0 to 50 is good, 51 to 100 is satisfactory, 101 to 200 is moderate, 201 to 300 poor, 301 to 400 very poor and 401 to 500 severe.

The arrival of the winter season and stubble burning has a major impact on pollution levels in the national capital city. Whereas the capital city has implemented several plans and installed smog towers to control the spread of pollution in the city.
