Delhi’s another smog tower to be inaugurated at Anand Vihar today

Union ministers Bhupendra Yadav and Ashwani Choubey will participate in the inauguration and will dedicate the structure to the public under the "National Clean Air Program.”


The winter season is approaching and the pollution level touches peak in the national capital which leads to breathing problems, choked environment and suffocation. Meanwhile, Delhi is gearing up for the extreme conditions and has started installing smog towers in the city. Today, Delhi will get its second smog tower at Anand Vihar.

Anand Vihar is one of the most crowded places of the capital city. Union ministers Bhupendra Yadav and Ashwani Choubey will participate in the inauguration and will dedicate the structure to the public under the 'National Clean Air Program.” The tower has been built by Tata Company which has a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters per second. The first smog tower was inaugurated by the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the center of Baba Kharak Singh Marg.

According to the report by Swiss Group, cities ranked based on the air quality measured in terms of levels of ultrafine particulate matter (PM 2.5) that can damage the organs and can also cause lasting damage. Delhi was among the most polluted cities in the world in 2020 for the third consecutive year, said the report.
