Delhi's Covid Cases "Not Low Enough" To Relax Restrictions: Health Minister

Covid cases are declining in the Capital City


National capital Delhi is witnessing a downfall in the COVID cases. The city for the last five days is observing a downfall in the Cases. 


On Wednesday, Delhi Health Minister, Satyendar Jain says, Delhi's Covid cases are not low enough to relax restrictions. Although the city is witnessing a downfall the scenario is not that normalising to relax curbs in the capital city.

 

According to the statement given by the health minister," The positivity rate has come down from 30 percent to 22.5 percent and the total number of cases in Delhi has also decreased." However, the positivity rate is not tough enough to relax " further the Minister added, there is not much occupancy in hospitals and beds are also vedant." The Delhi government has also ramped up daily testing." Said the minister.


As per the statement, the health minister also said the Delhi government will consider easing restrictions once the daily case count starts dropping below 15,000.


According to the data, on Tuesday the city logged 11,684 cases and 38 deaths due to the viral cases. The cases were 7/6.72 percent lower than that of a day before (Monday). The overall cases have climbed to 17,34,181 in Delhi.

 

The death toll touched to 25,425 in the city and active cases stood at 78,112. As per the information, the cases have been reduced and the capital city is witnessing a downfall for the last five consecutive days. 


Currently, the National capital is under weekend curfew, and a few more Restrictions like odd-even for shops and markets are taking place in the city.
