Delhi's pollution level takes a shift from "Good to Worst"

The pollution level in the city is turning to nastiest category. AQI (Air Quality Index) touched 221(poor).


The National Capital is taking a shift in its pollution level from the Good to worst category. On Wednesday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) took a turn towards a deteriorating environment. 

 

As per the readings by the Central pollution control board(CPCB) it said, the Air Quality Index (AQI) on Monday was 46 which comes under the good category, whereas on Tuesday it was 69 which comes under the satisfactory category after which it took a jump on Wednesday touching 221 which is creating an alarming situation in the Capital city. The two areas Dwarka and Anand vihar slipped into the very poor, taking the AQI to 311 and 348 respectively.


 

Knowing about the Air Quality Index (AQI). The AQI between 0 to 50 is considered in the good category, from 51 to 100 is satisfactory, from 101 to 200 is moderate, 201 to 300 is poor, whereas 301 to 400 is very poor and 401 to 500 is a severe category. 


 

The capital city is on the priority list when it comes to pollution. With the arrival of the winter season, the nearby state farmers start burning stubble which hampers the overall environment of the National capital. The national capital witnessed an incessant rise in its pollution level, which leads to choking and suffocating environments.


Meanwhile, the Delhi Government has implemented several initiatives to control the spread of Pollution Levels in the National Capital. Whereas Red light on, Gaddi off initiatives is also implemented in the city and also many awareness programmes are also going.
