Delhi's Sultanpuri market shut for violating Covid-19 norms

Delhi's Sultanpuri market closed for violating Covid-19 norms.Rohini Sub Divisional Magistrate said, "Gross violation" of Covid-19 norms was found during a surprise inspection conducted at the market on Monday.


The Delhi Government on Tuesday closed the Sultanpuri Vegetable Market for ignoring Covid-19 guidelines. According to the statement given to PTI, it read, "As per Delhi Disaster Management Authority India (DDMA), the sabzi Mandi located at P-2 block in Sultanpuri will remain closed till Friday (July 16)." In view of Violations of Covid-19 appropriate behaviour and Covid-19 norms and to prevent Sabzi Mandi located at P-2 block Sultanpuri from becoming a super spreader of Covid-19." said the order.  

According to the statement given by Meena Tyagi, Rohini Sub Divisional Magistrate said, "Gross violation" of Covid-19 norms was found during a surprise inspection conducted at the market on Monday.

Whereas some well-known markets such as Sarojini Nagar market, Lajpat Nagar central market, Laxmi Nagar, Kamla Nagar market, few parts of Karol bagh and Sadar Bazar have been closed , Janpath market was also shut on ( July 12) for non compliance of Covid protocols.Meanwhile, on (July 12)  the Chamber of Trade and Industry said to Anil Baijal, Lt. Governor that "market associations could not be held responsible for maintaining the law and order as they don't have any legal authority."
