Delhi's Tilak Nagar Market closed for violating Covid-19 norms. The markets have been ordered to remain shut with effect from July 23 to July 27 in "overall imminent public interest."


Tilak Nagar market has been closed by the sub-divisional Magistrate till July 27. According to the statement, Jitender Singh, the sub-Divisional Magistrate of Patel Nagar ordered the closure of Tilak Nagar Market comprising mall road, main market, old market and fruit market area for hampering Covid-19 regulations in the market. The markets have been ordered to remain shut with effect from July 23 to July 27 in "overall imminent public interest. "

According to the order, "it was reported that general public /shopkeepers of the market are not adhering to health protocols which may accelerate the Covid-19 positivity rate in multiple ways and the market may be the hotspot in future for spreading Covid-19."

Before this, many more markets of the National Capital such as Sarojini Nagar Market, Laxmi Nagar Market and a few Parts of Sadar Bazar, Lajpat Nagar Central markets have also been closed for violating Covid-19 rules at the public spaces.
