Delhi Schools To Not Be Closed, SOPs To Be Out Soon

Rising cases of Covid-19 in the National Capital are worrying parents. Whereas on Wednesday, the Delhi Disaster management authority (DDMA) had a meeting stating that schools will not be closed, but Standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be followed.

 

All students and school staff must wear masks or else they will be penalised with Rs 500 by the authorities. SoPs for the schools will be prepared after consultation with experts. SoPs will be advised properly. Further, parents are advised not to send children to school if they show any symptoms.

 

A detailed list of Sops will be released shortly for all schools. It is even planning to keep a check on social gatherings and cases for at least a fortnight.

 

DDMA has again directed people to wear a face mask in the capital city to curb the spread of the virus. Also, there's an imposement of rupees 500 as a fine for violating the norms in the city. Also, the DDMA emphasized vaccination for eligible age groups. Vaccination is helping to curb the spread so it should be promoted

As per the sources, authorities have been asked to keep a close watch on social gatherings and ramp up testing in the national capital. Delhi has been witnessing a surge in new infections with the positivity rate registering a nearly three-fold rise between April 11 to April 18, according to city health department data.
