Delhi Schools to reopen for classes 9th and 11th from 5 February

Polytechnic and ITI will also open, order to arrange schools


Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia has said that from February 5, schools will be opened for ninth and eleventh classes. He has also announced the opening of degree, polytechnic and ITI institutions. Sisodia directed the officials to ensure the safety of all the students from Corona and better arrangements for cleanliness in the entire campus.

The Education Minister said that after closing schools and colleges for 10 months, now they are being opened for examinations and practical preparations, so it is necessary to make complete arrangements to reopen schools and colleges. He directed the officials to go to schools and colleges and ensure compliance with all the rules of protection against corona. Said that social distance should be followed in every class. Availability of sanitizer should be ensured and masks should be mandatory.

He said that better preparation and counseling of students is necessary before the exam, so it has been decided to open schools and colleges with caution so that children can come to school with the consent of their parents and mix in the atmosphere there before the examination. The Deputy Chief Minister said that this will not compensate for the loss of education during the last one year, but the remaining time should be utilized properly. Sisodia said that our focus is on opening up educational institutions well and protection from corona. After that we will focus on the result.

Instructions for the ninth classes: Practical, project work and internal assessment will be conducted in schools from 1 March. Mid-term exams can be held between March 20 and April 15 between 2 pm and 5:30 pm. Grades must be obtained before the commencement of annual examinations. The questions in the exam will be according to the reduced syllabus.

Instructions for the eleventh classes: Periodic assessment can be conducted on the 1st and 2nd February and in the first week of March. Mid-term exams can be conducted between 1 pm and 5 pm between 1 April and 15 April. Project work and home assignments given to students during winter vacation will be evaluated as activity.
