Delhi to Meerut travel time lessens by 50 mins

Delhi Meerut expressway travellers has good news coming their way. On 1 April Minister of Road and Transport Nitin Gadkari announced the  completion  of the Delhi and Meerut expressway project,  which has been open for the public to travel in just 50 minutes. On Twitter, “Nitin Gadkari Twittered,  that We have fulfilled our promise of reducing travel time between Delhi - Meerut."

The project was developed at the cost of Rs 8,346 crore. The 96 km-long 14-lane expressway will take less travel time between Meerut to Delhi by 50 minutes. . Now, travelers can travel through NH 58 to reach Delhi, which will take over three hours to cover a distance of 70 km.The expressway also reduces the travel time of travelers from the nearby place from Meerut. On the expressway, the speed limit for cars has been set at 100 km /hour and vehicles can run at a maximum speed of 80 km per hour. Subsequently, the problem of traffic would also end.

The expressway has been developed as a quick expressway. In consideration of other gateways on the route while traveling from Delhi. Besides, the expressway will also have the advancement of the automatic number plate reader (ANPR) technology, which uses high definition high-speed cameras to tax tolls without the need for the vehicles to stop, thus avoiding unnecessary traffic and saving fuel. For the safety of the travelers, more than 4,500 lights and cameras have been installed on the entire road.  Also, small and big bridges, 10 flyovers, 3 railway bridges, 95 underpasses, and several pedestrian bridges have been constructed on the same expressway.
