Delhi to receive light rain today: IMD

The IMD said the capital on Monday settled at 26.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.


Delhi has been witnessing heavy rain for the last few weeks. The national capital is seen flooded with water whereas people are facing difficulties in commuting. 

As per the statement given by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), "While mostly light rain or drizzle has been predicted till September 27, there could be a spell of light to moderate rainfall on September 22." Adding more it said, "The frequent rain spells are a result of the frequently forming low-pressure systems in the bay of Bengal. Usually, two to three such systems are forming in the monsoon months, but it has increased to 4 to 5 during this month."

The city gets waterlogged after it receives heavy rain in the city. The IMD also said the capital on Monday settled at 26.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
