Delhi University vice-chancellor suspended


Delhi university's  Vice-Chancellor has been suspended by Ram Nath kovind .The union education ministry said on Wednesday, amid an important row over the appointment that developed an ugly power conflict.

According to the education ministry, it requested the president to allow an enquiry against Yogesh Jaggi after a dispute over appointments to the university last week on Tuesday, the president allowed the enquiry against the Vice-Chancellor who was accused of "misconduct " and the relation of Duty by the Ministry.

According to the Government statement, it said that the President of India in his capacity as the visitor of the university on consideration of facts and material available on record has ordered to conduct an enquiry into the allegations of dereliction of duties and lack of commitment and devotion to the duty against him.

Mr Tyagi has been on leave on 2nd of July when he was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi with a medical emergency. The government had made Professor P C Joshi in charge on 17th of July and Mr Tyagi resumed office a controversy erupted last week when Mr Tyagi appointed professor procedure has interim registered just before the meeting of the Executive Council.

The education minister made in the power Tussle between the Vice-Chancellor and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor saying appointments made on a Saturday or not valid as he was on leave.

The Roar escalated with writing to the ministry writing himself as acting Registrar and saying that all decisions taken are by University norms, the ministry then directed the university to take strict action against him.
