Delhi unlock: Gyms and yoga institutes to reopen from today


The National Capital was witnessing an oxygen crisis during the second wave of Covid-19, where insufficient beds and unavailability of Medical resources were alarming. Meanwhile, after the downfall in Covid-19 cases, Delhi has been under unlock process, from today Gyms, yoga institutes, hotels will be opened.

As per the information given by Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), it said on Saturday that, parks, gyms, banquet halls, golf courses and yoga centres in the National Capital can now remain open. Adding that it said that, "Gymnasiums  and yoga institutes will be permitted to open up to 50 per cent capacity." In the case of banquet halls, marriage halls, hotels, "only marriages shall be allowed with a ceiling of 50 persons."

The DDMA also noted that the metro stations are witnessing long queues outside due to a cap on the seating capacity at 50% in each train coach. However, the authority decided to keep in place the restrictions on the metro for at least one more week. Further, the order also said that people arriving from other states will not need any kind of E-pass to enter Delhi now. It also added that only 20 people will be allowed at the funeral.

The National Capital was under Covid-19 lockdown between April 19 and May 30 as a second wave raged the entire Country. The unlocking process in Delhi began from 31st May in a phased manner with the permission to factories within industrial areas to open and construction activities were resumed, followed by the opening of Markets and malls. Earlier it was announced that public parks and gardens in the city will be open. Now, Bars can open with 50% capacity from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Restaurants are allowed to function from 8:00 a.m. to 10 p.m

According to the Health bulletin, The National Capital on Sunday reported 89 fresh Covid-19 cases while the daily positivity rate remained at 0.12 per cent.
