Delhi witnesses jump in dengue cases, touches 480 mark in October

On Monday, Delhi reported the highest number of dengue cases since 2018 for the same period.


Along with the spread of deadly Covid-19  in the national capital, dengue cases are also rising at a fast rate. The cases in Delhi have touched 480 in October.

On Monday, Delhi reported the highest number of dengue cases since 2018 for the same period. A total of 480 dengue cases were recorded on 9th October.

As per the statement given to ANI by Suresh Kumar, Director at Jai Prakash Lok Narayan Hospital, he said, "There has been a rise in dengue cases due to prolonged monsoon period and a different transmission cycles of mosquitoes, which change every year." Adding more he also said, "A new virus is created or mutation takes place in it. This time, most of the cases are either mild or moderate. No severe cases are there." 

The national capital is witnessing a surge in cases. These cases are gradually increasing due to improper hygiene in various areas and contamination of water in several parts of Delhi.
