Delhi witnesses rise in dengue cases

On Monday, the national capital marked 30 positive cases of dengue.

The national capital is witnessing an increase in dengue cases. Due to heavy showers in Delhi last month, the city witnessed overflow as well as contamination of water and waterlogging issues which further lead to heavy traffic jams. As per the report released by the Municipal Corporation on Monday, the capital city marked 30 positive cases of dengue and it added 68 more cases taking the overall tally to 341 till October 2.

As per the statement given by an official from the south corporation, "There was an increase in mosquito breeding after heavy rainfall. The rains were later than usual this year. It was also very heavy rain with gaps in between, all of which favoured breeding."

Meanwhile, the capital city is also running several programmes to save people from getting infected with dengue.
