Delhi zoo to reopen from August 1

The Delhi Zoo was closed from March 18, 2020, because of Covid is going to open from 1 August.


The Delhi Zoo was closed from March 18, 2020, after which it opened on April 1 and was again closed on April 15 due to the harsh hit of Covid-19 second wave in Delhi. Now after almost 3 months Delhi zoo is going to reopen from Tomorrow (August 1), tickets are available online.

According to the statement,  officials said  The National Zoological park in Delhi is all set to open from August 1 with Covid-19 safety protocol and tickets are available from Saturday (Today).

Ramesh Kumar Pandey, Delhi Zoo director  said "the park will open in two shifts 9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 4 pm." We are planning to open a national Zoological Park from August 1. Preparations are on to keep things in order.  He also said we will try to maintain Covid-19 appropriate behaviour and sanitise the zoo to keep it disinfected." He also said to ANI that, "we will see how it goes and Accordingly we will think of increasing or decreasing the number of visitors."

Visitors can purchase tickets either through the Zoos website or at the entry gates using QR codes. This time we will allow 1,500 entries in each slot, adding 3,000 daily visitors, said the senior official.
