Delta variant concerns: Ban lifted, Indians can now travel to Germany,should undergo 10 days quarantine if tested negative for Covid-19.


India after facing an incessant rise in Covid-19 cases has also seen a crisis and medical emergency during the second wave of Covid-19. Meanwhile, other countries have banned international travelling due to the high risk of infection.

Whereas the cases are declining in India and infection risk is getting minimized. Now, Indians can travel to Germany after the country reduced its travel restrictions for Indians, along with some other countries. Indians can now travel to Germany and quarantine on arrival for 10 days. The quarantine period can also be reduced if the traveller tests negative for Covid-19. 

According to the statement given by the country on its website "If you have spent time in a high incidence area before entry, the relevant test may not be conducted earlier than five days after the entry."

According to Germany's National Disease  Control Centre's Robert Koch Institute, "Along with Britain, Portugal, Russia and Nepal will be removed from the Country's highest risk category of "virus variant areas" effective Wednesday. They will move into the second-highest category of "high incidence areas".These are Countries where the delta variant of coronavirus cases have been found in the samples of Covid-19 patients.

Despite the rising share of Delta Variant, the overall incidence in Germany has been declining this week. On Monday, RKI  reported 212 cases in the past 24 hours and an incidence rate of five new infections per 1,00,000 people over the last seven days.
