Development projects inaugurated in Kerala by PM Modi

Worth more than Rs 3,200 crore…


On Tuesday Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a slew of development projects at Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala worth more than Rs 3,200 crore.

 

These projects include the Kochi Water Metro, various rail projects, and the Digital Science Park in Thiruvananthapuram. Also, earlier in the day Kerala's first Vande Bharat Express was flagged by PM Modi.

 

The Kochi Water Metro connects 10 islands around Kochi through its battery-operated electric hybrid boats, dedicated by the Prime Minister to the nation today.

 

Also, Modi dedicated the rail electrification of the Dindigul-Palani-Palakkad section and laid the foundation stone for several rail projects, including the redevelopment of Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, and Varkala Sivagiri railway stations

 

Another project of the digital science park, of which Modi laid the foundation stone, will help in research facilities for developing digital projects and services through industry and business collaboration with academia.

 

Technologies such as AI, data analytics, cybersecurity, and smart materials will be focused, with an initial investment of around Rs 200 crore for Phase-1 and a total project outlay estimated at around ?1,515 crore.
