DMRC to install Automatic fare machines soon; will not require metro card to travel

The Near Field Communication (NFC) will help the travelers to make payments via debit/credit card, QR based ticket, NFC and Paper QR.


The national capital is always a step ahead in implementing new facilities. It could be rail, metro, construction or could be anything in terms of public convenience.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is soon going to upgrade its facilities. It would be adding a contactless ticket system called near field communication (NFC) which will help the travelers to make payments via debit/credit card, QR based ticket, NFC and Paper QR.

As per the information, this facility is currently available in the airport express line. Whereas the DMRC will soon install automatic fare machines (AFC) at 44 stations of the capital city. Travelers are just required to bring their mobile phones close to the AFC to get entry.

Meanwhile, other cities like Nagpur and Kochi have this system. This would be an easy method for the commuters to travel as well this could be less time consuming and digital in the city.
