Dr Saiju Khalid gets appreciation certificate from the IEA Book of World Records

Dr. Saiju Khalid launched a project in 2017 to address environmental problems.


Dr Saiju Khalid, MSW, MSc, PhD is a prominent psychologist, trainer, writer and environmentalist. Besides, he is also a member of the American Psychological Association, winner of Kerala state government Vanamithra Award, and a Global Book Of Records holder. At a very early age, he became member of several children’s clubs and he also served as the President of numerous organizations including ‘Nilavu Cultural Forum’, JCI and Puthuparambil Family Forum. Currently, he is the state president of the ‘Rawther Youth Federation Of India’. In 2008,  he received a cash prize for a speech competition from the Governor of Meghalaya. Whereas in the same year, he travelled all over India as part of the Gandhi Darshan Yatra. 

Talking about his family, he is the youngest son of Khalid Kunju (retired Air force officer) and Subaida Beevi who hail from Puthusseril, Elippakulam, Alappuzha district of Kerala. His wife Barkath Shamila is an Assistant Professor in Pharmacy college and they have a son named Suman Muhammad Quraishi.

On March 30, 2017 he initiated a project called ‘ NANMA MARAM ‘ to address environmental problems related to burning of trees. It is a project of planting trees in every place and he goes there either as a trainer or as a special invitee. During the visit, he plants trees and encourages others to do the same whereas his programme is getting recognition at both national and international levels. He received an appreciation certificate from the IEA Book of World Records. He was nominated by Shafeeq Shahul Hameed for this prestigious honour. Mr Hameed is the founder and chairman of the National Human Rights And Humanitarian Federation (NHRF).

There is another campaign 'Say No To Cancer' that has been launched by Dr Saiju Khalid. It is an awareness program through which he makes people familiar with the deadly disease of cancer. He urges people to follow healthy life habits. He has also published several articles regarding current issues related to his area of operation in various national and international journals. Meanwhile, two books ‘Ulprerakam ‘and ‘Catalyst‘ have been published by him. For the past several years, he has also been participating in various radio and television programs related to psychological issues. Meanwhile, he has completed more than a thousand motivational offline and online classes in and outside the country through which he could train almost 2.5 lakh people across the world. He also gives speeches and provides leadership training to members of various political and cultural organizations across the state. The beneficiaries of his programs include school and college students as he delivers training to them on several subjects.
