Trial running in 128 buses, now going to start in 3760 buses

Trial of e-ticketing in 128 buses of DTC is now going to start in all 3760 buses. Buses of all the bus depots in North and East Region from February 17 will start the facility of ticket as well as daily pass through Charter App, and from February 24 onwards, every bus in West and South Region will have the scope of e-ticketing system. The DTC has decided to implement e-ticketing system in all its buses following the recommendations of the Task Force Committee made by Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot to implement contactless mobile ticketing system.

DTC buses were first introduced on September 14, 2020, on 29 September, in 29 buses, with contactless mobile ticket trials and since then the trial has been going on. The trial was extended for the fifth time and was implemented in 128 buses.

DTC Deputy CGM (PR) Dr. R. S. Minhas was asked about this decision of DTC, he said that now this trial is being started in every bus of DTC. He said that the trials going on since September -2020 have yielded very good results and the task force committee has also studied the results. In the first week of February, it was decided in the committee meeting that now 100% of the DTC buses should be brought under trial.

According to the information, DTC has also prepared a training schedule in each region regarding the trial. Training will take place on February 11 at Subhash Place Depot in the North and Nand Nagri Depot in the East. Officers will be trained at Mayapuri Depot in the West and Vasant Vihar Depot in the South. Now along with tickets, daily bus passes can also be taken from the mobile app. The way an e-ticket can be obtained through a mobile phone, in the same way a daily pass can also be obtained. At present, DTC has around 3760 buses running on more than 557 routes, including 18 routes of NCR. About 50 per cent of these buses will have an e-ticketing trial starting from 17 February and the remaining 50 per cent thereafter. Trial in buses will start from February 24.
