DU 2021: 2.25 lakh new student’s exam from March

Open book system this time also due to Covid


This time in March, the first semester exams of Delhi University undergraduate and postgraduate students will be held. In view of Covid-19, this time also the administration will hold open book examinations for these new students of DU. The university has released a possible date sheet for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses, according to which the examinations will start from March 17. About 2.25 lakh students taking admission in the academic session 2020-21 in DU will give this exam. These include students of the School of Open Learning (SOL), Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB). In addition to the first semester of SOL, students of the third semester will also give this exam, as their exam was postponed in December.

Corona cases in Delhi are decreasing but due to the number of students taking precaution, DU administration has decided that the semester exams of the students who take admission in the academic session 2020-21 will be kept from the open book mode. Like the exam held in December, this time too, students will get the opportunity to come online and give OBE in examination centers.

There are more than 85 thousand admissions for undergraduate courses in DU in session 2020-21. All these students will give semester exams in March. Apart from this, more than 99 thousand students who have taken admission in SOL also have to sit in these exams. 12 thousand first semester students of NCWEB will also give this exam. PG students are around 12 thousand. Along with these, 1 lakh 40 thousand students of SOL's third semester have to give their exams in March itself, whose semester exams were canceled in December.

According to the likely date sheet, examinations for B.Sc. Hons, B. Com and B. Com Hons will be started from 17 March and BA Hons Courses from 19 March. Examination forms will start filling soon. Examination guidelines may be released by the end of February. At the same time, the results of the semester examination held in December 2020 for the rest of the semester are also expected in March.
