DU site experiencing technical issues during OBE 1st round

Students did not receive question paper and couldn’t get the answer sheet submission sign in the site due to glitches

The first day of the Delhi University’s Open Book Examination (OBE) round began on Saturday, with glitches in some student groups.

After DU made its first full-time OBE for students last year in August, at that time there were a lot of glitches along the way, so before administering another OBE tests were done this time for students who attended this semester entirely online, with tutorial-learning started in online mode after August. 10.At the time of the final test last time, students had received their question papers via email and at the university portal, for double safety.

Even while posting the response, they were allowed to send their response sheets via email or upload them to the test site. At this point students should only use the university website to try to streamline the exam process. However, this was disrupted when some students did not receive their questions through the portal on Sunday.

A second-year BA (Honors) Hindi Journalism and Mass Communication student at Bhim Rao Ambedkar College said he and his classmates did not receive their question papers on Saturday. "We have arranged for our radio production paper to be set for 9.30am, we logged on to the site to receive a statement - "no test scheduled for this day" - on it. We waited for 30 minutes without receiving anything. -10: 13 in the morning. When it was time to hand over the paper there was no renewal on the website, so we couldn't deliver it there. We mailed our answer at the end, " said the student.

Ashutosh Kumar, chief examinations officer at the Center for Vocational Studies, said the set of students at his college also faced a similar problem.“Students from six different vocational programmes had the same paper today but only students from one program received a questionnaire. I received about 200 calls from frightened students and parents. As time went on and the site could not be updated, we arranged for students who received a standard questionnaire to share it with others on Whatsapp. Since the option to enter the answer sheets also did not come from those who did not receive their questionnaire, about 500 students sent us their answer sheets. Planning all that will be a management challenge, ”he said.

Dean Examinations D S Rawat said the exams went well despite the challenges.“There have been some issues with a few papers because tests with old unique paper codes and new unique paper codes happened together. These problems were resolved and the students were given the extra time they needed, ”he said.
