Due to Covid-19, New Zealand suspends entry of Indian travellers

Indian travellers entry suspended in New Zealand


New Zealand  Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on Thursday temporarily suspended the entry for travellers from India, including its citizens. According to the information given in the press conference, the order has been imposed due to a spike in Covid-19 cases in India and will be implemented from 1600 local time on Sunday from 11th April and will be in place until 28th April.

The PM also mentioned that "This is not a permanent arrangement but rather a temporary measure . The temporary hold would also help reduce the risk ".Further, she also said that ,"The government would be looking at risks posed by other Covid-19 hotspot countries as well in its future course".

Whereas  Prime Minister Narendra  Modi is going to hold a meeting with the Chief Ministers of all states and territories today, to take an update of the coronavirus situation in the country and will also address the vaccination-related problems about the covid-19 pandemic. The meeting will be held today at 6:30 pm via video conferencing.
