An Indian origin family suffers a loss of $2.5 million during the US protest


New York, United States: According to a report, an Indian-origin family brought a car with a dealership with Kenosha. Suffered a massive loss of almost $2.5 million after their business was destroyed in a fire allegedly set by a mob amid protests over the shooting of a 29-year-old African-American man in the US' Wisconsin city.

Anmol Khindri, a member of the family who owned the dealership "Car Source", approximate the financial losses from the huge fire amount to be over USD 2.5 million, as per a report from Kenosha News.

Even, the owners of the dealership is now "desperately seeking" help to recover their losses.

On August 23rd 2020, Jacob Blake was shot almost seven times on his back by a policeman and still in the hospital. Recent on the last Sunday, the dealership was attacked when a mob coming down into its lot and begin smashing cars on the first night of unrest.

Although, there were an explosion and following fire that spread from one vehicle to the next.

Anmol said police notified him of the damage, but he feels little was done to prevent them.

He said, "Everybody watched it burn to ashes,". "Nobody did nothing about it- nothing."

The business is at a complete loss for what it should do next as insurance is not providing any immediate help. He is in vain.

He also mentioned that he has a family to feed. Also, he has a responsibility to feed almost 20 other families, who worked for him in his company over eight to nine years.

Mr Khindri called for more protections for local businesses presently suffering from the impact of circumstances out of their control.

A report in Fox News quoted mister Khindri as speech that the trauma of losing the business is "horrific," adding that the insurance firm has didn't offer immediate support and, as of last week, the destruction was tagged as "domestic coercion."
