Dushyant Dave And Prashant Bhushan to Represent Farmers' Agitation In SC

Dushyant Dave And Prashant Bhushan to represent farmers in the ongoing protests

Today, former president of Supreme Court Dushyant Dave and lawyer of SC Prashant Bhushan will represent the famers’ case in Supreme Court regarding the ongoing protest at Delhi-Haryana border against repeal of the new-farm law.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court will resume hearing a batch of pledge that seeks direction to the authorities to immediately remove the farmers who are protesting at the border points of Delhi against the three farm reform laws. Earlier the Supreme Court had allegedly said that the Centre’s negotiations with the farmers “have not worked” and a solution must be found before it will become a National issue and talked about forming a panel where present a farmer groups, government officials as well as other stakeholders will discuss and resolve the deadlock. But farmer groups were not happy with the suggestion.

A final verdict on the pledge against the farmer protest is expected today. According to the Supreme Court the farmers’ agitation may soon become a national issue if it is not resolved. Meanwhile, a Sikh preacher shot himself at the Singhu border protest, leaving behind a suicide note in which he said that he has killed himself in solidarity with the ongoing farmers’ protest and against government injustice.
