Earthquake in India...

The tectonic plate moves 5cm every year...

On Tuesday, the weather scientist and geological expert warned about the earthquake in India as he mentioned that every year the Indian tectonic plate moves 5 cm which creates a disturbance in the Himalayas and increases the possibility of major earthquake event in the coming days.

Following the information, the Hyderabad based national geophysical research institute (NGRI) chief, Dr. N Purnachadra Rao confirmed that the earth's surface is constituted of several plates that moves continuously, and the Indian plate is moving 5 cm every year that can lead to the major earthquakes.

He further added that they have 18 advance seismograph centers in Uttrakhand that have higher chances of earthquakes because of the seismic gap between the Himalayas and the western part of Nepal.

He also stated the two new earthquakes occurred one in Dharamshala, of Himachal Pradesh with magnitude of 3.6 to 53 km to the north of the region at 10:30 pm on Monday  February with a epicenter of depth 10 km beneath the Earth's surface.
