EC Panel To Visit UP To Review The 3rd wave!

From Tuesday (Today) a team of the Election commission of India (EC) will be on a three-day visit to Uttar Pradesh to take stock of the poll preparedness ahead of the state assembly elections 2022.



Ahead of UP polls, the public rush is also speeding with that the risk of getting contaminated with the COVID led New Variant Omicron is also speeding up. Also, the Allahabad High court urged the EC and requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to review the Covid scenario and extend the Uttar Pradesh polls.



According to CEC Sushil Chandra said, The EC will be visiting Uttar Pradesh soon and "ab appropriate decision as required by the situation will be taken after we review it." The commission already visited Punjab, Goa, and Uttarakhand as a part of its pre-poll stock-taking exercise.



As per the information, the election commission has asked the government on Monday to expedite the Covid-19 vaccination program in five poll-bound states in a meeting with the union health secretary, amid indications that polling may be held in time. Also, a statement has been released by the union health ministry saying the centre has reviewed public health response measures and vaccination status with the poll-bound states of UP, Uttarakhand, Goa, Punjab, and Manipur.



The states have been advised to ramp up the Covid led vaccination for all the eligible population of the state and inoculate the population with the jab.
