Polling days in 5 states announced today by Chief of Election Commission (CEC)
The Election Commission today announced the polling dates for the five states where elections are due. The elections in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry will be held from March 27 and the results will be announced on May 2.
The state of West Bengal will vote in eight phases from March 27 and Assam will vote in three phases from March 27. On April 6th Tamil Nadu , Kerala and Union Territory Puducherry will have one round of polling.
Sunil Arora the Chief Election Commissioner said that in the upcoming elections more than 18 crore individuals are eligible to vote. In West Bengal polls will be held in 294 seats, 234 seats in Tamil Nadu, 140 seats in Kerala, 126 seats in Kerala and in UT Puducherry on 30 seats.
