English Medium Schools to be Opened in Each Ward of SDMC

SDMC has 104 wards


The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) is planning to reopen English medium schools in its respective wards.

 

According to the statement given by the chairman, Nikita Sharma stated that "SDMC has been providing quality education among nearly three Lakh students enrolled in 568 schools run by the civic agency” .She also said,  “Science clubs have been started in 200 schools this year, and smart classrooms have been implemented in468 schools. The SDMC is also distributing tablets in association with NGOs to provide online classes”.



As per the information, primary education is handled by the three municipal corporations in Delhi namely North Delhi Municipal Corporation, South Delhi Municipal Corporation, and the East Delhi Municipal Corporation. It is the new initiative started by the south Delhi municipal Corporation (SDMC) to establish English medium schools in all the 104 wards that fall under it.



According to the statement given by Mukesh Suryan, the mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) said, "12 schools will be inaugurated soon." Further said English medium schools will be opened in all 104 wards”.



With the arrival of Covid-19, education has been hampered to cover up SDMC distributing tablets and basic needs to the students with NGOs to fulfill the requirement of students' education. Several other initiatives are taking place. Also, a sports cell has been created to encourage students to participate in sports and sports-related activities and programs.
