Environment Minister holds meeting over the action plan to check pollution in Delhi during winter

The Kejriwal Government has sought a meeting with the Union Environment Minister to discuss the contribution of pollution from neighbouring states.


The capital city witnesses an incessant rise in pollution levels during the winter season. Due to this reason, two smog towers have been set up across the city to control the pollution.

Delhi's Environment Minister, Gopal Rai on Tuesday conducted a meeting with various agencies in the capital, to set targets for the upcoming winter season when the pollution level rises to a great extent.

According to the statement, the minister said, "Each agency has been tasked to formulate their action plan, which needs to be submitted by September 21. Based on these individual and, a holistic winter action plan will be released by September 30."

"Traffic jams lead to pollution. We have asked the traffic department to make a list of the congestion hot spots and try to come up with solutions to fix them," said the Minister.

Meanwhile, the Kejriwal Government has also sought a meeting with the Union Environment Minister to discuss the contribution of pollution from neighbouring states.
