Farmer Protest Enters Third Week

Government to Address Farmer's Concerns

With the farmers protest entering its 16 day, unprecedented developments have been seen on both the sides. While the farmers have been planning to block Delhi-Jaipur highway, one of the  32 protesting unions have already moved the  Supreme Court against the centre's contentious agricultural laws, which the farmers alleged have been passed in an autocratic and un democratic manner.

The government on the other hand claims that the farmer movement has been captured by "ultra-left" and "pro-Left Wing Extremist" elements, a claim that the farmers have already dismissed.

The government sources has also informed about how the bill was passed after consulting farmers all over India. In the official statement released by government sources, "PM spoke more than 25 times, more than 2.23 crore SMS were sent to farmers in October and 1,37,054 webinars were held that reached out to 92 lakhs farmers and the Agriculture Minister (Narendra Tomar) had multiple meetings,".

In the meetings that were held last week with the centre government including Home Minister Amit Shah, the demonstrator collectively discarded the Centre's written offer of amendments in farm laws, and went on to proclaim a further intensification of the movement. Mid December will see a full blown movement across the whole nation, the group clarified.

With the gridlock entering its third week, the government is planning a huge campaign across the country, with over 100 press conferences and 700 farmers' meets have been planned in 700 districts, to clarify the confusions on the farm bills and to reach an amiable solution.
