Bharat bandh, on March 26 will mark completion of four months of the farmers' protest against the three contentious farm laws as farmers demand repeal of these laws and a guarantee that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) will continue.

The SKM said in a statement that all road and rail transport, all kinds of public places and markets will remain closed across the country. SKM leader Darshan Pal said that vegetable and milk supply will not be allowed during the strike. All shops, markets, malls and institutions will also remain closed throughout the day but emergency services like ambulances will be allowed during the shutdown.

Other than the repeal of laws, farmers are also demanding the cancellation of police cases or charges that have been filed against protesters and reduction in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG. The SKM also appealed to all farmers to carry on with a peaceful protest and not indulge in any kind of conflict during the nationwide strike.
