Farmers will celebrate Diwali at protest sites in Delhi: Rakesh Tikait

BKU leader alleged that the Center is not listening to their demands


Bharatiya Kisan Union(BKU) leader, Rakesh Tikait has announced that this year the farmers will celebrate Diwali at protest sites in Delhi. The leader also warned the farmers, ongoing agitation against the farm laws will continue and said that they are not creating any obstacles in the way of the Government.

Farmers are protesting for more than a year for their three farm laws initiated by the Central Government.  Whereas these statements came into the limelight after the BKU leader visited the family of Arun Narwar who was allegedly killed in police custody in Agra, UP. They have also demanded compensation of rupees 40 lakh and also a Government job for his kin.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait also said that the farmers are not getting the appropriate Minimum selling price (MSP) for growing potatoes and Bajra. He also said that the farmer's community is upset

According to the statement, by targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rakesh Tikait said, "I will urge farmers not to vote for BJP in the upcoming assembly election. The samyukt Kisan Morcha will oppose the BJP in state assembly elections." Adding more he also said, "we will not field our candidates nor support any political party in the assembly election." Said the BKU leader.

 

Not only this, many innocent farmers lost their lives during the ongoing protest. They were killed in an attack and many passed away due to poverty and health complications while protesting at the borders.
