Fee for RC Renewal of Old Vehicles to be increased 8 times

Proposal to give more fee for RC renewal of cars older than 15 years. The government has made a rule to fill 8 times the fee in the draft policy from October. If you have your vehicle scrapped, then you can give the benefit to anyone. If you gave a scrap certificate to someone else, they will take a discount on the new car.

The Union Road Transport Ministry is framing new rules to remove old polluting vehicles from the road. A draft policy is being issued for this.

If you have a car that is more than 15 years old and you want to get its registration certificate i.e., RC new, then you have to pay eight times the fee. The new rule will be applicable from October and then you will have to pay Rs 5,000 for RC renewal. Similarly, the RC renewal of old bikes will cost Rs 1,000. Now only a fee of 300 rupees has to be filled. There will be a fee of Rs 12,500 for renewing the fitness certificate of a 15-year-old bus or truck. This is about 21 times the current Fei.

The Ministry of Road Transport has issued a draft notification proposing to increase the fee. The new proposal to increase the fee is a part of the policy to remove old vehicles from the road (vehicle scrappage policy). According to the proposal, if someone delays getting the RC renewal, he will have to pay a fine of Rs 300 to 500 per month. At the same time, there will be a fine of Rs 50 per day if there is a delay in getting the fitness certificate renewal of commercial vehicles.

Now that the government is bringing new proposals for phasing out the old vehicles causing pollution, the question is arising whether the government demands removal of the ban on 15-year-old diesel and petrol vehicles in Delhi and adjoining areas. And does it come from the Supreme Court? Anil Sood, who raised the voice of consumers, says, "If the government is bringing a policy of phasing out polluting old vehicles in a phased manner, then it should be implemented simultaneously across the country. Therefore, the government should get their orders from the Supreme Court and the NGT Should be requested to withdraw. "

As part of the strategy to remove old vehicles, now if the private vehicle becomes 15 years old, then it will have to get its RC renewed every fifth year. Similarly, if the commercial vehicle becomes eight years old, then it will have to take a fitness certificate every year.

The Road Transport Ministry has also released a draft to open registered scraping centers for scrapping vehicles that do not pass the fitness test. According to the proposal, any person can get his vehicle scrapped at any scraping center in the country and can also give his scraping certificate to someone so that others can get a discount as per the rules if they buy a new car. The draft states that the scrapping center must ascertain the original owner of the vehicle before it is scraped. "What will be the price of the scrap car, it will be based on the market price and not the government will set a scale," said an official.

At the same time, the Ministry has also said that if you bought a new car and if something goes wrong after a few days, then the car maker will have to recall it. Not only this, the company will give you a new car. Fines ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore can also be imposed on a company which does not consider this rule. This rule is going to come into effect from April 1. For this, a rule has been issued by the government. Under the new rule, any car manufacturer will be obliged to recall the car only when within seven years of the launch of the vehicle, it will have 20 per cent complaints of vehicle malfunction.
