Fight against Defamation! Leading Bollywood actors and producers sued major News Channels

Bollywood biggies sued Times Now and Republic TV

The leading B-Town biggies came together for filing a lawsuit in Delhi High Court against 'misleading and irresponsible interpretation of facts and reporting questionable image of Bollywood in eyes of fans', after recent development in Sushant Singh Rajput's case. Several Bollywood stars including Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar and Aditya Chopra joined hands to stand against the complicit and deprecatory remarks by reporters on News Channels. They demanded a legal action against major channels Times Now and Republic TV.

The suit has been hit against Republic TV's Arnab Goswami and Pradeep Bhandari of the channel; and Times Now's recognized faces Rahul Shivshankar and Navika Kumar.

It has been witnessed that the channels tagged B-town with some delirious and highly derogatory phrases which sounded quite disrespectful and unsettling for the stars to trade their fame and dignity on stated accounts. Several undignified and offending terms like 'dirt', 'filth', 'druggies' and 'scum' have been used to confide the audience of drug consumption and distribution chains in Bollywood.

The film industry has been on the media's radar since Sushant's death. Amid revelations encountered on path, serious developments have been overpowering and challenging the lifestyles of Bollywood stars. Drug chats on phones of stars had been probed, numerous parties have been brought under focus and the media ousted some provocative allegations on personal lives of stars.

The celebs outlined the intriguing statements made by the media. They feel media houses are tending to run their parallel investigation bureaus and are running for self driven conclusions without citing trustworthy evidence. The personalities are facing public outrage due to this unfavorable image painted in recent days.

The lawsuit condemns the impulsive and inappropriate portrayal of a respectable and profound section of society in such appalling light. The industry is a generator of revenue and employment in the country.  The suit said "The livelihood of persons associated with Bollywood is being severely impacted by the smear campaign being run by the Defendants. This is in addition to the ongoing pandemic which has resulted in extreme revenues and work opportunity loss.” It also highlights the invasion of privacy of stars and damage to their reputations in the public frame by presenting them as criminals and drug procurers in people’s eyes. Audience should stay updated to track further progress.
