Fire breaks out at factory in Delhi, 1 killed

Eyewitnesses said that an LPG cylinder exploded following which the fire broke out.


One person died in a massive fire that broke out at a cosmetics factory in Delhi's Pratap Nagar during the early hours on Saturday. The fire was reported at around 3:47 am and the body of the deceased was found on the first floor of the building. A Delhi Fire Service official said that the cause of the fire was not known yet. However, according to the eyewitnesses, the fire started after a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder exploded in the premises.

28 fire engines were rushed to the spot to control the blaze. An official said that a fire service personnel got injured in the operation and was admitted to the hospital. "We have successfully contained the fire. Cooling is underway," the official added.
