Mother and Daughter died in fire...
On 14 Feburary 2023, a fire broke out during an anti-invasion drive at Marauli Village in Kanpur Dehat Region in Uttar Pradesh, where a 44-year-old lady died along with her daughter.
According to the police, a case has been registered under sections of IPC 302, 307, 429, 436, 323 and 34 on the basis of allegations put by the victim's son (Shivam Dixit) over a dozen people, including the sub-division magistrate (SDM), station officer (SO), and Lekhpal.
Four people identified as Ashok Dixit, Anil Dixit, Vishal Dixit and Nirmal Dixit also logged under the complaint to encroach on land belonging to the village community.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon in Marauli village when a district administration perform the demolition against illegal encroachment. This led to the scuffle between the family members and the official after the fire broke out. The family members blamed the officials to intentionally setting fire to the house.
There were 4 members in the house during the fire broke out, in which two were killed and the others sustained burn injuries. The deceased were identified as Pramila Dixit (44) and her daughter Neha Dixit (22).
