The rupee fell by 19 Paisa against the US dollar...


The Indian rupee (INR) fell by 19 Paisa against the US Dollar and settled at 82.94 on its last closing in early trade of 27 February 2023 at the interbank foreign exchange. In its last closing on Friday, the rupee settled at 82.75 dollars.

 

The dollar index that benchmarks the greenback's strength against a set of six currencies jumps by 0.04 per cent to 105.25.

 

As per the statement by the forex traders, the Indian rupee lost value due to weak domestic markets and a positive greenback.

They further added that it will rebound in crude oil prices, which will also weigh on the rupee.

 

Following the information by the exchange data, the Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were the net seller in the capital markets. They offloaded the shares worth Rs. 1,470.34 crores on Friday.

 

As well as in the domestic equity markets, the 30 shares of the BSE Sensex were trading 0.27 per cent or 159.67 points lower at 59,300, while the NSE Nifty declined 46.90 points or 0.27 percent to 17,418.90.
