"Foreign tourists will be allowed in Goa soon": PM Modi

Goa's 100 per cent vaccination has become important to review the tourism sector, said the PM


Covid-19 vaccine drive is speeding up whereas Goa came to limelight for getting its 100 per cent adult population vaccinated for 1st dose of Covid-19. Goa is well known for its beauty and tourism attractions across the country.  

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that India's record vaccination rate will help tourism-dependent states like Goa to reopen quickly and safely.

As per the statement, the Prime Minister urged and said if protocols are not followed properly foreigners will not arrive. whereas he also said," India's vaccination drive is not only a health cover but a cover for livelihood too. It is important that tourism destinations open as soon as possible... the Char Dham yatra in Uttarakhand. Goa's 100 per cent vaccination has become important to review the tourism sector." Adding more, the PM said, "Tourism can resume coming tourism season just like before. We are planning to allow foreign tourists to come here. Domestic and international tourists can take pleasure in coming here. This will be possible when we give as much importance to corona precautions as we have given for vaccination. It is our duty."

Meanwhile, tourism in Goa is the main livelihood of the people of that state. Covid-19 has impacted the state badly which has led to a downfall in the economy.
